Q/SPARC automates the archiving of spooler jobs to media or disk, allowing for selective restoration at a later time. Q/SPARC allows multiple criteria sets to be specified. This greatly enhances the ability to backup spooler jobs that belong together without having to specify individual jobs or backup the entire spooler. The SPLREST function allows users to restore archived spooler jobs from either tape or disk to the spooler.

The SPLVIEW function allows users to view the contents of jobs on the stored medium.

The SPLTRANSFER function allows users to transfer a Q/SPARC archive from disk to tape or tape to disk.
